CTA Assault Rifle PS3 Controller Unveiled, Costs $65 [Video]
CTA and their video game accessories are no stranger to these parts. Truth be told, we generally show them off because of the over-the-top nature. There's not many times you can say you've seen an inflatable race car that works with your Nintendo Wii, now is there? With the company revealing the Assault Rifle PlayStation 3 controller, they're keeping up with their ridiculousness, but bringing it into the world of the hardcore gamer.
The Assault Rifle controller will cost you a cool $65, and it's due out some time in August. As you can tell from the description above, it's meant for the PlayStation 3, and it even has all of the buttons you'll find on a traditional SIXAXIS controller. The R1 shoulder button, usually the trigger in most First Person Shooter titles, has been appropriately mapped to the trigger on the fake assault rifle, hopefully making it so much easier for you to shoot your enemies.
It works with titles like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but let's face it: PlayStation Move is coming out soon after the Assault Rifle ships, and when that hits, this will probably be considered antiquated. But, if you're still interested in seeing it in action, go ahead and check out the video below. Remember: $65. Oh, and did we mention that it will still make sounds, even when you're not playing a video game? Because it can. Just food for thought.
