Archos Diamond 2 Phones Pack 2K Display, USB-C

Archos has a pair of new smartphones, the Diamond 2 Plus and Diamond 2 Note. Both feature similar designs and an impressive roster of features considering their mid-range prices. Archos won't be launching the phones until this upcoming May, but it has detailed both of them ahead of that launch. Features include Android Marshmallow, USB-C, a borderless display, and more.

The Diamond 2 Plus is the 'lesser' of the two, featuring a MediaTek Helio P10 SoC with eight 64-bit cores — half are 1.2GHz and the other are 2.0GHz. This is alongside a Mali T860MP2 GPU, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage.

The display is mid-range at 1920 x 1080/5.5-inches, making for 400ppi. As well, the smartphone features a 20MP image sensor on the back and an 8MP camera on the front. Security features include a fingerprint sensor, and there's USB-C connectivity.

The phone launches in May for $229 USD.

More notable in some ways and less so in others is the Diamond 2 Note, which features a 6-inch display without borders and with a 2k-resolution. Under the hood lies a MediaTek X10 eight-core processor, PowerVR G6200 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 3610mAh battery.

Features include a 16MP rear camera with dual LED flash and auto focus, an 8MP front-facing camera, fast charging, sound amplification, and a remote control. The phone does not feature USB-C, but does run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

The Diamond 2 Note arrives in May for $269 USD.
