Apple Deletes Support Threads Talking About Consumer Reports iPhone 4 Story
We mentioned yesterday that Consumer Reports had initially recommended the iPhone 4. The publication then actually tested the device, came back, and announced that it could no longer recommend the device due to the poor antenna design.
Consumer Reports cited the fact that software would not fix the antenna issue as the reason for withdrawing its recommendation. TUAW reports that any threads started or talking about the Consumer Reports story have now been deleted.
It wasn't only one thread deleted either, Apple moderators on the Support Forums deleted SIX different threads on the subject according to TUAW. The threads were cached via Google and are still able to be found with a web search. This is certainly not a good thing on Apple's part, but I have to wonder how mad people who purchased the iPhone 4 based on the original Consumer Reports recommendation are right now considering that recommendation was withdrawn after testing was actually completed.
