The battle continues between Apple and the rest of the software giants around the world, focusing today on maps and the keeping of notes. Apple has been tipped to acquire two companies as of late, one called BroadMap, focusing on mapping technologies likely aimed at improving the stability and abilities of Apple Maps. The other company tipped to have been acquired by Apple this week is Catch, a note-taking cloud-based ecosystem in competition with Evernote.

Apple's 4th quarter earnings report here in 2013 had mention of the best of said quarters for iPhones sold in the history of the company - but even that didn't sway one user from asking Apple CEO Tim Cook what the benefits were for the newest set of features for the iPhone 5s over the previous generation. The question itself centered on the iPhone 5s' A7 chip, the motion coprocessor, and the new Touch ID fingerprint sensor, inquiring what Apple had to say to investors that simply did not see the benefit in these features in the short run.

A prospective roadmap of releases has been leaked today detailing the upcoming arrival of both the Samsung Galaxy Note III and the Sony Xperia Z1, aka Honami. These devices have been tipped as getting their first full showing during the Berlin-based festivities at IFA 2013 at their own unique events on the 4th of September. If this release schedule is correct, both devices will be on the market in the United Kingdom by the end of the month.

It would appear that the folks at Intel are not giving up - by any means - on their ventures into the smartphone and tablet universe as a roadmap of processor architecture leaks today. This selection of next-generation hardware will be used in Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Android 4.2 devices, leaving Windows RT in the dust (not that Intel was all that excited about the platform in the first place, as it were). It all begins with a suggestion from Digitimes, Taiwan-based newspaper sources speaking up on two new tablet platforms Cherry Trail and Willow Trail, both of which will come in with 14nm processes.

A new Blackberry 10 roadmap, leaked by a mysterious Twitter account, shows that Blackberry has a few interesting devices heading our way. Of course, we have to take this information with a grain of salt, but nonetheless, it does show us an interesting new future for Blackberry. In the leaked roadmap, we see that Blackberry is planning on releasing a 10-inch tablet, a phablet, and another touchscreen device with a fully QWERTY keyboard.

This week a leaked roadmap / product listing chart has been revealed by a user close to the action inside T-Mobile USA. This list shows not only a set of new handsets that will be appearing carried by the company soon, it tips off the date that T-Mobile's 4G LTE network will be available as well. The Samsung Galaxy Exhibit (in some new flavor or another) has appeared on this list with the BlackBerry Z10 and the Galaxy S III with newly upgraded 4G LTE capabilities for T-Mobile's unique network bands.

Wii U game roadmap revealed: Wonderful 101, Yoshi, Mario Kart and more

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has apologized for the absence of Wii U games in early 2013, insisting that the team needed more time to refine the gameplay, but saying that new titles would arrive from late March. First up will be Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, on March 22, followed by LEGO City Undercover at the end of the month. However, that should start a minor rush of new games, including The Wonderful 101 and some freshly-announced titles. Update: Now with gameplay demo videos after the cut!
