Microsoft Q2 2015 earnings: Xbox down, Surface & Lumia up

Microsoft has released their Q2 2015 earning report, which show the company had $26.5 billion in revenue with $5.8 billion in net income. That’s an 8% uptick in revenue over last year, but an even greater loss in income (10%). Part of that has to do with their purchase of Nokia, for which Microsoft is claiming $243 million in “integration ans restructuring expenses”. In the quarter, they sold a record amount of Lumia phones, too, but Xbox sales are down versus last year.

Lumia 435 leaked to be Microsoft’s entry-level contender

It is no secret that Microsoft wants to take its smartphone platform to devices even lower on the hardware spectrum than its Lumia 5XX series. That desire might actually soon take flesh, if this Lumia 435 that has been repeatedly sighted and passed around the Internet really does take flight. This low-end smartphone from Microsoft Mobile will practically fill in the missing slot in Microsoft's lineup, a slot that has so far been occupied by the non-Windows Asha line and a bit by the Android-powered Nokia X.

This is the Nokia Lumia 520, a device that we've reviewed more than once - once as the 520 and another time as the T-Mobile version (basically the same device) as the 521. Back then, it was cheap. Now it's staggeringly cheap. This device has a 5-megapixel camera at its back, 8GB of storage inside, and a 4-inch display. Lumia RM-1052 prototype sighted, could be the McLaren

Microsoft might have closed the last chapter of Nokia's Lumia book, but the story is far from over, especially with many unanswered questions left hanging. One of those pertain to the supposed Lumia 1020 successor, a smartphone codenamed "McLaren". Aside from continuing the 1020's photography lineage, this McLaren was supposed to also bear a "3D Touch" interface. However, it was rumored to have been axed mid year and vanished without a trace. That is, until this RM-1052 prototype surfaced in China, which could very well be that stillborn smartphone.
