Apple Spaceship campus begins construction with life-sized models

In what very much appears to be a play on the old school-bound project which asks what the use is of a life-sized map, Apple has begun constructing life-sized models of the structures that'll be included in their Spaceship campus. While we've previously put quotation marks around the word Spaceship when speaking about this campus in the past, it's been called that name so very many times at this point that we've decided to simply call it that as a matter of fact. Here we're seeing the first of a number of structures that'll be re-built for the final campus.

Amazon biodome campus design proposal approved by Seattle board

Apple isn't the only company looking to create an eye-catching campus. Amazon is pursuing permission to build an interesting biodome structure that will be part of its new downtown Seattle campus in Washington. Though it still has a while to go before the building comes to fruition, Amazon is a step closer to its goal, having received approval from the Seattle city review board on its design proposal.

Apple Campus approved in unanimously in Cupertino

It's official: the "spaceship campus" is ready to roll as the Cupertino City Council lends their unanimous approval of the Apple project at their October meeting. This month has already shown off a couple of views of the upcoming beast of an architectural project - now Apple can celebrate the initiation of the building itself. One move remains, of course, that being the second public reading of the formal agreement between Apple and the City of Cupertino, this scheduled for November 19th, with the full set of Apple's permits ready to hit the books the day after.

Apple “spaceship” campus behind schedule, over budget

Apple's new "spaceship campus, or more formally called Campus 2, is still in the planning stages and ground breaking still has yet to begin. In fact, it's being reported that Campus 2 is behind schedule, and the budget for the project skyrocketed to $5 billion, up from $3 billion originally. If that's the case, the project would cost more than most top-of-the-line corporate skyscrapers, including the new World Trade Center in New York City.

Facebook gets approval to build a low-key second campus

Facebook has just received the "go-ahead" to build a second campus in Menlo Park. Menlo Park's city council, minus one member, voted 4-0 to allow Facebook to build its second campus. The new campus will be a 433,555 square foot building located on the other side of Facebook's headquarters. It will be located on 312 and 313 Constitution Drive, just west of Bayfront Expressway.
