Is Apple finally giving us the variety we want?

One of the main complaints about Apple’s mobile ambitions over the years has been a lack of variety. For quite some time, we’ve had our shot at one submission in each category. A single phone, a solo tablet, and not enough variety to keep many users engaged. That’s been changing, and if rumors are true, will continue to. Is Apple finally getting the hint? If they are, let’s hope they’ve learned from past mistakes.

iPhone 6 leak confirmed rendered fakery: seek the smudge

This week several news outlets - including our own - were quick to the gun with posting some iPhone 6 images that very much appeared to be the real deal. As it turns out, some smudges on the displays of these units gave them away: the same smudge patterns were used on previous renderings, also giving these images away as renderings as such. The whole lot was mocked up by 3D illustrator Martin Hajek.

iWatch details leak: seems a lot like iPod nano

The next big release from Apple appears to be stacking up as a wearable device, coming up more than just a couple of times with a code-name iWatch. This device has been teased again today with a release inside China with inside sources suggesting Apple has been creating prototypes of the device and is currently testing more than one model. This miniature device is also set to look rather similar to that of the 6th generation iPod nano with a very similar battery size, lending steam to the idea that the change-back to a larger size for the line in favor of the iPod Shuffle was done for more than one easy-to-see reason.
